Introduction

These are items designed and developed for children to engage their attention physically or intelligently by stimulating the interest of one or more of the senses that’s touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight.

Importance of sensory toys

They are fantastic as they stimulate the child’s senses. That stimulation goes directly to the brain that is related to a lot of skills that a child will need when growing up, crucial skills as talking, writing cutting, and reading.

They help give children the interest they want when the sensation kicks in. It enables them to do whatever they want to do. But also in doing this, it limits their brain from doing anything else as:

  • Listening to you.
  • Eating.
  • Sleeping.
  • Following directions given.

Conclusion

Sensory toys are essential in the development of the child but not to say they are universally helpful to all the children instead one needs to understand what the child is searching for and pair with a sensory toy that provides that sensation
